CONSIDERING AIR RIDE SUSPENSION?
Thinking about lowering your car but you want the ability to make adjustments to your performance?
Coilover suspension offers exactly that, allowing you to tune your ride quality exactly how you want it.
WHAT IS COILOVER SUSPENSION?
The term “coilover” simply means “coil spring over shock” and is a type of suspension that allows you to adjust different aspects of your car’s ride height, camber, and damping. Coilovers are a great way to lower your car’s center of gravity for more aggressive handling as well as adding a much more sporty look to your car.
HOW DO COILEVERS WORK?
Most factory suspension systems consist of a controlling arm, coil spring and a shock absorber or strut. The difference between a strut and a shock is that the strut carries some of the cars weight while the shock does not. In case of any compression on the strut, or the spring, or both, the wheel moves upwards towards the body of the car.
Coilovers work very similar, It has a longer coil spring that is coiled around the strut for a much tighter range of motion. For the upward movement of the wheel, both the shock and the spring must compress. The spring then carries the weight upon compression while the strut transfers or damps the bouncing to the spring.
